Nicky Hayden’s Life Nearly Goes Away

Severe head injuries prevent any surgical intervention. The mother and the older brother are in the Hospital of Cesena next to the Rider. The news coming from Italy is very alarming. His condition is extremely serious. Nicky Hayden’s diagnosis is, according to some sources, is brain-dead.

The 35-year-old Kentucky rider has not been able to recover from the serious accident he suffered on Wednesday when he was hit by a car when he was cycling on a road near Misano. The delicate health condition of the American rider, as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage, prevented the doctors of the Hospital Maurizio Bufalini de Cesena to intervene him surgically.

At night a first medical part was issued informing that Hayden’s conditions were “critical” and that the rider “was too weak” to be operated on. And in the morning of this Thursday, it was emphasized that Nicky continued “extremely severe“.

The mother of the MotoGP world champion in 2006 is already with Hayden’s older brother Tommy in the hospital where she was able to talk to the doctors.

The world of motorcycling has turned to Nicky, showing its solidarity and countless signs of support. The last one was Valentino Rossi: “Nicky is one of the best friends I have had in the paddock. Come on Nicky, we are all with you.

The hospital Bufalini of Cesena has issued at 17:04 a new medical statement on the health of Nicky Hayden, which we send in full:

“The clinical conditions of Nicky Hayden remain extremely severe.”

“The young man, who is still recovering in the Resuscitation Unit of the Bufalini Hospital of Cesena has suffered a severe polytrauma with consequences of severe brain damage.”

“The prognosis remains reserved”.
